We are excited to announce that our students have earned enough LiveSchool points to have a Foam Party on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
We have old yearbooks for sale for $5 a piece in the office. They range from 1986 to 2011.
Prek graduation is on May 15, 2024 at 1pm.
The 3rd graders will be going to the Columbus Zoo for their field trip on May 17, 2024.
The 1st Grade Field Trip will be to a movie in Athens and lunch at Burger King on May 9, 2024.
Our kindergarten field trip this year is to the Clay Center on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.

3rd and 4th graders will be taking the mandated WV Department of Educations' Reading/English and Math assessments next Wednesday and Thursday, May 1st and 2nd, 2024. Please have your child at school on time, as testing starts promptly after our morning announcements. We can't wait to have them show what they know!

Wirt County Schools will be closed today, April 12th, due to flooding. This will be an AIT day and the board office and school offices will be closed.

We will be having a NED assembly this Friday, April 12, 2024. The NED assembly comes to us free and teaches students about having a positive mindset. Yo-yo purchases help fund the next NED assembly for another school. Every school is asked to pay it forward.
Students will not be receiving Supper Sacks today, Monday, April 8, 2024.
If you are keeping your child(ren) home today to view the eclipse, you are welcome to come by the school office to pick up glasses for your child to safely view the event.
Wirt County Schools would like to remind students, parents, and staff that on Monday April 8th, we will experience a partial solar eclipse. This event will begin around 2 PM and conclude around 4 PM. Wirt County Schools will be on a regular schedule on Monday. If your child stays home on Monday for educational purposes to view the eclipse, please send in a note, as this educational opportunity will be an excused absence. Wirt County Schools has put protocals in place to ensure student safety during this event. All students and staff will be provided eclipse glasses to wear during teacher led viewing and to bring home during their bus ride. Please help us in educating your child about the dangers of looking at the sun during the eclipse without special eclipse glassed made for this purpose. Thank you for your understanding and support of our efforts to safely enjoy this unique educational experience.
