Homecoming Day Parade Information for Friday, October 4
Check out for the Homecoming Parade will be between 12:00 pm and 1:30 pm at the school. If a student is signed out, they cannot be signed back in. If you are signing your child out at the parade, you will need to sign them out with Mrs. Taylor, not the classroom teacher.
Coaches may sign students out after 12:00 pm, but parents will need to send notes to the school with their children giving permission for their children to leave with coaches.
PTO meeting at 3:30 pm
The Book Fair is coming up. Your child's teacher will be letting you know what day they are picking out their books.

Good evening, this is John McKown, Wirt County Schools superintendent. In light of recent social media post that are circulating threatening schools in West Virginia I am calling to let parents, students, and staff members know that we are aware of this and are in contact with local and state law enforcement concerning these posts. At this time, there has not been a direct threat to Wirt County Schools. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority and every threat is taken seriously and fully investigated.
Thank you to the parents that have reported these posts to us. Please continue to do so if you see something concerning. We are working with law enforcement to have an increases police presence at school tomorrow and in the days that follow until the source of these posts is found and dealt with by law enforcement.
Come join us and share your input on September 11 at 3:30 pm for our Fall Parent Advisory Committee Meeting. Learn about what is going on at Wirt County Primary Center and how you can help be a part of it!
Enjoy your holiday. You earned it!

Wirt County Primary Center is excited to announce that we were able to purchase new headphones for every student from kindergarten through 4th grade. Responsible use of technology is part of the expectation of students when using school equipment. We will be holding students accountable for the care of their new headphones as we do with ipads and computers. Your child's teacher will discuss the importance of being careful with school technology. We encourage parents/guardians to do the same.
Please be aware that starting this school year, we will begin charging parents/guardians $5 for students' broken headphones, just as parents/guardians may be charged by the school system for broken screens, computers or ipads. You will be contacted by your child's classroom teacher about any breakages as soon as possible, so that you will not be surprised by the arrival of a bill for $5 headphones from the Wirt County Board of Education Office.
PARENTS:
We are ready to dance in the new school year with our students!
Your children will be bringing permission slips home tomorrow to attend a school dance. Permission slips MUST be returned to school by Thursday, August 22nd, so we can be adequately prepared for the students in attendance.
See you there!
As we start the new school year, we would like to ask that parents and guardians of students not use the parking spots designated for the Wellness Center to pick up children or visit the school. The Wellness Center has limited parking spots and needs them to help serve those requiring medical services.
Thank you for your kind consideration and understanding.
Wirt County Primary Center starts school promptly at 8 am. We have morning announcements right at 8 am, while teachers quickly take attendance, get the lunch count, and check folders for notes. Some classes have physical education or specials following announcements, while others may have Reading or Math. It is important to get your child to school on time, so he or she doesn't miss any of the fun or academics.
Breakfast starts at 7:30 am in the cafeteria, except for prek & kindergarten who eat in their rooms. Students go to their classrooms for morning announcements.
