Calendars that were ordered during open house have arrived! They're being sent home with your students today.
If you still want to order one, it's not too late. We're accepting orders through this Friday, August 29th. Calendars are $15 each, and all proceeds support our student PBIS activities.
WCMS Weekly Advisory Update - Every Monday, our students meet with their advisory teachers to review upcoming events and complete activities. This year, we want to bring you into the loop! Keep an eye on our page for weekly updates on what our students are learning and doing in their advisory groups. We'll also share opportunities for you to get involved!

WCMS/WCPC Communities in Schools is hosting a Halloween costume drive to help make sure every kid has a costume for Halloween. We're accepting lightly used and brand-new costumes in sizes K-8th grade!
You can drop off your donations at the WCMS or WCPC main office. We're collecting costumes through October 17th, 2025. Help us make this a Halloween to remember for our students! 👻

Don't miss your chance to order a 25-26 WCMS School calendar! The calendar includes all of the school year dates as well as a QR code that goes to our continuously updated calendar. Order forms are coming home with students this week and all orders, along with money, are due by August 29th. Calendars are $15. This fundraiser supports our PBIS student activities.
Our new Communities in Schools Coordinator, Taylor Smith, is hard at work stocking our clothing closet and food pantry. Please consider donating to these resources for WCMS students! All donations can be dropped off at the WCMS main office. If you have any questions or want to work to coordinate a donation from a business or organization, please email taylor.r.smith@k12.wv.us.
WCMS Families: Parent access codes for Schoology and LiveSchool are being sent home Monday and Tuesday this week. Please check with your child to get your code. If you need help connecting to your child's accounts, please contact the school at 304-275-3977.
Schoology accounts will allow you to check your child's grades, upcoming assignments, missing work, and directly message their teacher. LiveSchool is our positive behavior acknowledgement system. When you sign up for LiveSchool you will be able to see your student's points at any time and get a weekly email with a summary of points and comments from their teachers.

It was a fantastic first day back for our WCMS White Tigers! The energy was high and the smiles were contagious. To kick off the year and start building strong relationships, students played "Tower Takedown" during advisory. It was a great way for them to get to know their peers and advisory teachers better.
We also took time today to review our ROCKS expectations for the year, setting a strong foundation for success. The theme for this school year is "Level Up," and we can't wait to see all the growth and achievements our students will make!
A few important reminders for students and families:
⏰️Students should be at school by 7:45 AM to ensure they get to class on time.
📱Cell phones are not allowed during instructional time and must be kept in lockers at all times.
📝👨💻Please turn in all back-to-school paperwork as soon as possible. Remember, students must have a signed AUP form to receive their computer.

Get organized for the 2025-2026 school year with the new Wirt County Middle School calendar! Each month features pictures from some of our favorite memories with WCMS students and important school dates.

Reminder! Wirt County Middle School will host open house for our students on Tuesday, August 12th from 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Any sixth through eighth grader who is interested in playing golf, practice officially begins tomorrow! Practice will be from 8 to 10 AM at Mingo Bottom Golf Course.
