Students who are enrolled to take dual credit courses with WVU-Parkersburg are scheduled to meet with a representative from WVU-P tomorrow at 1:00 pm. Students will report to the auditorium. Class of 2023 - Seniors - You must show proof of having a Tdap and MCV4 (meningitis) vaccine prior to school starting on August 18. It is recommended that you get your well child visit and dental exam prior to school starting.
Today is the last day for seniors to request to paint a parking spot! Make sure you fill out the painting request form, parking permit request, and pay your deposit to the high school. Once you complete your forms, you will receive an invite to join a Remind group where will will send out further information including your assigned parking spot numbers. Make sure to accept that!

Our last week of STEAM is here! Come join us on Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. in Mrs. Lemley's room. On Tuesday, we will have the Makey Makey circuit boards and the Sphero robots so you can create your own code program. On Thursday, we are having a Show Your Skills day where you can create things using the skills you've learned this summer. We will have the 3-D printers, glow forge, cricuts, and more. Remember, you can get lunch from 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.
Tips for seniors planning to paint their parking spots:
1. Talk with friends and make a plan to see if you need the same paint colors. No aersol paints are allowed! Instead, purchase exterior paint in gallons, pints, or sample sizes.
2. Research designs to see if you find one you like or design one yourself! Have your design ready to submit for the request form. You can even screenshot a design you want to copy and submit that!
3. Mail a check or drop off check or cash to the high school by July 29th to reserve your spot!
4. Schedule a time with your friends to come between August 8-13 so you can paint together!

Calling all seniors! You can now request to paint your parking spot. The deadline to request a parking spot to paint, submit your design, and pay for your spot is July 29th.
In order to reserve your spot to paint, you must complete all of the following steps:

3. Pay $50.00 (includes parking permit payment, painting payment, and repainting deposit)

The fourth week of STEAM activities will including a community service project and creating your own decals! On Tuesday, July 12th meet in Mrs. Lemley's room to learn about making light up greeting cards. Then, we will walk to the senior citizen center to do the activity and give out our cards. We would love to see lots of students come support our community service project. On Thursday, July 14th, we will be creating vinyl designs and applying them to pillowcases and making permanent decals for tumblers. We will also be in Mrs. Lemley's room for that activity. Both days begin at 12:00 p.m. Lunch is available at 11:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. If you want lunch, please use the side door to the cafeteria because the commons area is closed for waxing this week. If you are just coming to the STEAM activity, please come in through the science wing doors.
STEAM plans for Thursday, July 7th have changed due to the weather. The rock wall has been postponed. Instead, we will have several stations set up in Mrs. Lemley's room. Come join us to use the Glow Forge, 3-D Printers, Circuit Decals, Spheros, and VEX Robotics. See you at 12:00 p.m.!
Week 3 of the WCHS STEAM program will feature a wide range of activities! On Tuesday, July 5th we will be creating objects using the 3-D printers, Glow Forge, and trying out the new sublimation printer in Mrs. Lemley's room. On Thursday, July 7th, Sergeant Ware from the Army National Guard will be setting up the rock wall in the WCHS senior parking lot outside of the gym (weather pending). We will also have robotics activities set up. Remember, lunch is available in the cafeteria from 11:30 - 12:00 p.m., too. STEAM will be from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. See you there!
Do you need someone to talk to? Project Aware and Coplin Clinic have partnered with Wirt County High School to set up a grief support group beginning July 7th. This is open to all high school students.
