Prom 2023 pictures are now available within the Class of 2023 and 2024 Schoology groups. Students can access photos by logging into Schoology, clicking on their class group, then click on albums.

Parents and students, this is a reminder that our Wellness Field Day is tomorrow, Wednesday, May 23rd. Students will arrive at school and report to first period as normal. Then we will dismiss students to their activity stations. Here are a few reminders for tomorrow.
- All students should dress comfortably and wear closed-toed shoes. Everyone will be outside at the park in the afternoon.
- BIKING STATION - If you signed up for biking, we have helmets available but feel free to bring your own.
- HIKING STATION - You will be hiking for approximately two miles. Wear comfortable shoes and consider bringing a small bag for snacks and water.
- FISHING STATION - Students must remove all hooks from fishing gear prior to transporting it on the bus. All hooks must be enclosed in a tacklebox or similar container. If students are 15 or older, they must have a valid fishing license or they will not be permitted to fish. Students who are fishing will be transported by bus to the County Poor Farm then back to the park for lunch.
-TIE-DYING STATION - Please remember to bring items to tie-dye and wear old clothes!
- KAYAKING (Afternoon-only activity) - All students with permission slips can kayak if they would like. Students who are planning to kayak should bring a life vest if possible. We will have a few spares. We will have kayaks available.
We ask that if your child will need to sign out during the day, please send a note to school in the morning to let us know what time. Please try to limit signing out to before 11:00 a.m. or after 3:00 p.m.

ATTN: Students going on tomorrow's (5/10) field trip. Students should dress comfortably and follow the school dress code. Lunch is provided on both trips but students may choose to bring extra money for concessions. If your student is going on the baseball trip, please remind them to bring sunscreen!
Seniors need to repaint their parking spots ASAP in order to receive their $30 deposit back. The owners of all parking spots repainted by the end of the day on May 12th will receive their $30 deposit back on May 19th. If students choose not to repaint their spot black, they will forfeit their deposit.
Tonight's Sectional Baseball game against Calhoun County has been relocated to Wirt County at 5:00 PM. Due to the last minute change of venue, there will be no concessions this evening.
Reminder: This is a sectional event so no school or senior citizens passes will be accepted.

WCHS Students and Parents - Tomorrow is the last day to turn in T-Shirt orders, field trip permission forms, and wellness day permission forms! Please turn them in first thing in the morning!
Attention Parents! Students received permission forms this week for some end-of-the-year activities. 9th - 11th graders received a Wellness Day Permission form and 9th-12th graders who qualified for our 4th nine weeks reward with their LiveSchool points received a permission slip to watch a baseball game or go bowling. Both permission slips are due FRIDAY, MAY 5TH!
Wellness Day will be May 23rd and is free but students may choose to purchase a t-shirt for $13.00. This is only for 9th - 11th graders. Our 4th Nine Weeks Reward trip is scheduled for May 10th. Students may choose to go bowling at Emerson Lanes or go to a Charleston Dirty Birds Baseball Game. Both trips are $10.00. If you need to request a permission slip or have questions, please contact the high school at 304-275-4241.
The Wirt County High School golf team will be having a meeting at Mingo Bottom Golf Course on May 8th at 6:00 PM. This meeting is for any student interested in golf between the 8th and 11th grades. If you are unable to attend the meeting but are still interested in playing golf, please let the school know.

Wirt County High School is offering the annual STEAM Summer Program for current 8th - 11th-grade students. This program will focus on fun, hands-on activities including VR Goggles, 3-D printing, vinyl cutting, robotics, coding, tie-dying, and even an escape room! The program will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 22nd through July 27th.

Students may attend any sessions but are not required to attend a specific number. Any sessions with less than 5 students registered will be canceled and participants will be notified via the contact information listed on their registration.

Seniors are able to request to purchase a netbook for $1.00. Students may complete the request online and should check their Schoology messages for more information and the link to the request. All requests must be submitted by May 5th. 55 netbooks are available.
The WCHS PBIS Team is sponsoring a t-shirt design contest! Students can submit designs now through 3:00 p.m. on April 28th to be considered. We will take up an order for t-shirts with the winning design in a couple of weeks.
Mr. Goff's freshman honors history class produced some fantastic Crusades projects recently and they are being displayed in one of the trophy cases at school. Check out the students' creativity!
