ยท         Rights Under FERPA:

Parents and eligible students have the right to:

  • Inspect and review their child's education records.

     

  • Seek to amend records they believe are inaccurate or misleading.

     

  • Consent to disclosures of personally identifiable information from the records, except in certain circumstances.

     

  • File a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education concerning alleged failures by the school to comply with FERPA.

     

Parental PPRA Rights:

ยท        Consent: Parents must be notified and consent before their child is required to participate in a survey or activity that probes into any of the protected areas. 

ยท        Opt-out: Parents have the right to opt their child out of participation in such surveys or activities, even if they have previously consented. 

ยท        Access to Information: Parents have the right to review and inspect the materials used in the student's education.
