Parents and eligible students have the right to:
Inspect and review their child's education records.
Seek to amend records they believe are inaccurate or misleading.
Consent to disclosures of personally identifiable information from the records, except in certain circumstances.
File a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education concerning alleged failures by the school to comply with FERPA.
Parental PPRA Rights:
ยท Consent: Parents must be notified and consent before their child is required to participate in a survey or activity that probes into any of the protected areas.
ยท Opt-out: Parents have the right to opt their child out of participation in such surveys or activities, even if they have previously consented.
ยท Access to Information: Parents have the right to review and inspect the materials used in the student's education.
