The WCMS Pumpkin Drop

We are excited to invite parents and guardians to participate in our upcoming WCMS Pumpkin Drop, a fun and engaging school-wide STEM challenge! This event will not only spark creativity but also encourage teamwork between you and your child.

What’s the challenge:

Students are working with their advisory class to design a pumpkin drop container! We encourage you to discuss various ideas and gather items from around your home that can be used in this exciting experiment. Think about materials that can cushion the fall and keep the pumpkin intact!

Possible Materials:

  • Styrofoam

  • Spray Foam

  • Cardboard Boxes

  • Old Towels or Cloths

  • Egg Cartons

  • Duct Tape

  • Packing Peanuts

  • Bubble Wrap

  • Old Pillows

**Materials used in the pumpkin drop will be thrown away or recycled!

Join us for the pumpkin drop!

Mark your calendars for Friday, November 1st! The Pumpkin Drop will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Wirt County Middle School. We invite you to come and cheer on your child as they showcase their creative designs. Parents and guardians can begin signing in at the front entrance of the school at 1:45 p.m.
